Post Talk to the Band here. Reply with quote
Hi, I'm Rob and I'm in JEBO.
Thought I'd sign in here to see if anyone wants a chat or any info on the band, songs, good pubs, Indian restaurants etc etc.

Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob and welcome to the busiest forum on the web!,

Some info on the songs of JEBO would be good for a start sir Very Happy , did anything in particular inspire you to write any of the songs on the JEBO album and if so what inspired you and how does it relate to said song/songs?.

And of the recent tour in Loreley, was there anything out there in Germany that perhaps inspired you to write a new song you maybe wouldn't have written for the new album if you hadn't have had the experience to visit Loreley?

Also off the topic of JEBO I know but you speak of Indian restaurants, what food would you recommend for a noob like me to the Indian cuisine?, I have NEVER had any Indian food in my life as yet!!

Conan

Hi Conan,
I don't come on here much but I thought I 'd have a look and realised I hadn't answered your post.

The easiest song to explain it's reason for being would be '7th Day' I suppose. That was inspired by a visit to a WWI cemetary in Belgium. The song started off as being purely about war (as the video seems to have done also) but it developed, in my head anyway, to mean more about any situation of life or death in a team/buddy situation.
Anyway like most songwriters I prefer to leave the interpretation down to the listener, unless you buy me a few beers and I'll tell you anything.

The gig in Loreley was amazing and I think we might be invited back next year, fingers crossed. We sold more CDs than all the other bands put together over the whole weekend, which was nice. As far as inspiring any songs, not really, the backstage Harribo selection was good though.

Indian food eh?
Start with something mild like a chicken korma or chicken tikka marsala then over time work your way up to the more firey stuff, you;; soon get the hang of it, it's quite easy to become addicted mind you so watch out. Oh and a keema nan is always worth trying as well.

yes, it's nearly rock and roll and I like it.

Cheers
Rob

Not the busiest forum in the world is it (unfortunately)? I remember a chicken tikka in an Indian restaurant in Bradford and my friend at the time said - why have they brought a big jug of iced water? The reason was soon revealed!

Cheers Rob

I nicked it off the original Armstrong and Miller show, they had a sketch called 'Force On The Case' about an alcoholic detective and his imaginary train driver friend Mr Chuffy.

see, fascinating.

Hello! My name's Nick and I'm an alcoholic - sorry, I'm in JEBO. And I'm an alcoholic. Or something.

Anyway, hello everybody, thought I'd drop by. Currywise I began with Biryani, the beginner's choice, but now I'm quite a fan of Sag, with the spinach. It makes you feel a bit healthy despite all the other stuff that's in there. I'm gradually working towards the spicier stuff, but not hothothot madness. If I were going out for a curry tonight (which I am!), I'd probably have something like lamb sag with peshwari naan and mushroom rice. Very kind of you, don't mind if I do.

Also, thought I should let everybody know, seeing as Chuffy's not mentioned it, that the second album is progressing nicely, with another four days spent in the studio last week. It's like JEBO, but W-I-D-E-S-C-R-E-E-N, and people I've played the demos to like it. A lot.

Anyway, that's it for now. Catch you all anon.

Cheers!

Not quite, but I did eat the largest cake in Brighton on Wednesday. Belgian bun, apparently - felt quite ill.

Woot... multitrack tape deck? Are we going for the analogue warmth here?

If you come up with any strong concepts as you take the journey of writing the new album materials, do feel free to bounce them off me for future visual / video ideas for future live visuals / YouTubes! I don't mind signing an NDA btw Smile

Otherwise good luck chaps; after the last album it's not gonna be easy to trump it but I look forward to hearing it, again feel free to use me for feedback.
